Colorful activities held in Fenghuang County to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival

September 16 was the second day of the Mid-Autumn Festival and Prefectural Day holidays in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. Various tourist attractions in Fenghuang County launched a variety of colorful activities to enrich tourists’ experience. As of 5p.m. that day, the Fenghuang Ancient Town Tourist Area had received a total of 38,300 visitors. As night fell, tourists gravitated to the north gate pier of Fenghuang Ancient Town to take a cruise. Some women with exquisite makeup and dressed in Hanfu carried lanterns and took a night tour by boat. As the evening breeze blew, rows of lanterns with riddles hung on the boat swayed from side to side.

There are many famous historical sites like Shen Congwen’s Former Residence, Xiong Xiling’s Former Residence, Huang Yongyu Art Museum, and Yang’s Tea House here. Among them, Shen Congwen’s Former Residence was crowded with visitors. In the exhibition room, outdated sandalwood square tables, wicker chairs, yellowed photos, etc. gave tourists a glimpse into the daily life of the literary giant Shen Congwen. The travel photography in Fenghuang Ancient Town was increasingly popular. Many tourists dressed in Miao costumes and Hanfu took photos in the folk wax printing street, Confucian temple, peach blossom forest, and other scenes.

The rural tourism in Fenghuang County also heated up. Major rural scenic areas organized a series of cultural and tourism activities to attract tourists from all over the world. During the day, tourists strolled through Zhushan Village and experienced traditional agricultural activities such as weaving cloth and grinding soybeans to make bean curd. At night, tourists enjoyed a bonfire party at the starry sky camping base. Changtan’gang Resort held an outdoor concert for tourists to enjoy the music while viewing the moon.
